We are aware that there is a new NHS App - "NHS Digital" - this app is only for NHS England and does not apply in the rest of the UK.  As far as we know there are no non-clinical data sharing policies currently being discussed in Scotland.

Pharmacists

Morven Smith

We are pleased to share an attached pharmacist with another Forfar practice.

Her main responsibility is to advise on all aspects of prescribing within the practice.  This includes making recommendations on the cost-effectiveness of medicines, carrying out various prescribing projects and individual patient medication reviews. She works with all members of the Primary Health Care Team and most importantly, with patients. Any changes she suggests to individual medication regimes are planned and discussed with the doctors before implementation.  She is bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors and staff.

Community Nurses

They can provide acute clinical care and have expertise in nursing terminally ill patients in their own homes. They provide support to both patient and carer and have a role as counsellor and health promoter in the community. Arrangements for care in the home are usually made by the doctors or on discharge from the hospital but should you wish to contact the nurse yourself, please telephone  Forfar 468344 Monday to Friday 09:00 – 16:30 or telephone the surgery.
