In addition to GP and ANP consultations the practice offers a range of clinics and healthcare services:

Asthma Management Clinic

Clinics are held on most Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons each week.  This clinic aims to help patients successfully manage their asthma and is run by practice nurses who have diplomas in asthma management. 

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Clinic

The COPD clinic is held most Wednesday afternoons and run by an experienced practice nurse who holds a COPD Diploma.  This clinic is run to help patients suffering from COPD to understand and manage their condition with the nurses’ support.  The nurse also carries out special breathing tests to aid in an accurate diagnosis and to monitor the disease progression.

Diabetes Clinic

This diabetic clinic is held in the afternoon and run by the practice nurse who holds a diabetes diploma. As well as carrying out routine checks on diabetes control, the nurse provides education, support and encouragement in managing diabetes.

Smear Tests (Cervical Cytology)

We recommend that all women aged 25 - 65 years should have smears carried out every three years (age 25 - 49 years) and every 5 years (age 50 -65).  The Health Board will send you a letter when your smear test is due.  If you do not wish to have this done, please come and discuss it with the nurse.  The practice nurses or a female doctor usually performs these smear tests.

Minor Surgery

The partners undertake certain minor operations to help save long waits for hospital treatment. Please note that, for legal reasons, an adult must accompany anybody under the age of 16 years. 

Family Planning

The practice nurses trained in family planning can provide a confidential service to advise and help the patients to decide on contraceptive needs.  The nurse can also see the patient to arrange a repeat prescription for the oral contraceptive pill.

Dr Wallace can fit Contraceptive Coils and Subdermal Implants (Nexplanon).

Postnatal Care

In the weeks following a baby’s birth, the midwife and the health visitor give care in the home.  The surgery will be in contact with new mothers to arrange a 6-week mother and baby check. 

Paediatric Screening

All of our partners are qualified to assess pre-school children to check that they are growing and developing normally.

Smoking Cessation

Support for smokers trying to quit smoking, is available from the local Community Pharmacists or phone Tayside Smoke Free Helpline on: 0845 600 9996.

Stress Management

People with stress-related problems may be referred to the Clinical Psychologist after consultation with the doctor.

Patients Not Seen Regularly

Registered patients aged between 16 and under 75 who have not been seen by a member of the practice Clinical Team within the last three years have the right to request an appointment. 

Registered patients aged over 75 who have not been seen by a member of the practice Clinical Team within the last 12 months have the right to request an appointment, or, if confined to the house, to request a home visit.

Physiotherapy 

Our reception staff can refer anyone with musculoskeletal issued to the First Contact Physio team.  Staff will arrange a suitable time for the physiotherapist to call you back.

Peer Support Worker

Our experienced Peer Support Worker provides counselling in a safe, secure environment which is highly confidential.

Community Link Worker

Community Link Workers (formerly known as Social Prescribers) work out of GP Practices and help individuals connect with local services and community groups and activities.

Community Link Workers aim to empower people to take an active role in improving their wellbeing. They can provide support for social issues which affect a person like financial or housing difficulties, social isolation and loneliness, or anxiety and stress. Community Link Workers use a person-centred approach and talk about what really matters to the individual. They work with people to identify the challenges they are facing and support them to set goals and overcome barriers to allow them to take greater control of their physical and mental health.

This service is available to any patient aged 16 or over. 

Self-referrals can be made by patients contacting their practice and asking for an appointment with the Link Worker.

Community Link Worker

Community Listening Service

Many of us find it helpful to talk, particularly during stressful events at home or work, or after a bereavement or loss. Telling your story uninterrupted and judgment-free could help you to sort through your emotions. You may then be able to rediscover your strength and find a way forward.

Tayside Listening Service

Mental Health and Wellbeing ECS Hub

This service is for any patient aged between 16 and 65 presenting with mental health and wellbeing needs, or substance use needs.  The hub includes nurses, social workers, psychology, mental health and wellbeing peer support workers and community link workers.

Travel Vaccinations

Some examples of local support, organisations and voluteering groups.

  • Angus Integrated Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service (AIDARS): Provides information and advice regarding drug and alcohol support, treatment and recovery opportunities that are available in Angus.
  • ANGUSalive Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service: Based in libraries accross Angus. During library opening hours there's access to free information booklets. During weekdays one-to-one support is available by phone, email or arranged face-to-face appointment. Drop in support services as per timetable. Peer Support.
  • Angus Carers: Do you care for someone? Angus Carers are here to support you in your caring role. If you are an unpaid carer for a friend or loved one in Angus they can offer information and advice, emotional support, practical help, social and peer support as well as signposting.
  • Angus Citizens Advice Bureau: Provides free, confidential, independent and impartial advice and information across a wide range of topics to all residents of Angus.
  • Angus Falls Service: If you have had a fall, history of falls, fear of falling, feel unsteady, poor balance, low bone density or family history of osteoporosis you can access this service by phone support, written information, home visit, level 1&2 assessment, a range of services/equipment to help with daily living, refer to appropriate services and access to Better Balance classes. Don't wait to have a fall to contact.
  • Angus Independent Advocacy: Can support you to have your voice heard and enable you to access the right services in relation to many issues such as care, family life, housing or other situations where difficulties may arise.
  • Angus Women's Aid: A confidential service, offering support to women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.
  • Children's Health Scotland: The only charity in Scotland dedicated to informing, promoting and campaigning on behalf of the needs of all sick children and young people within our healthcare system. They make sure children and young people get the treatment they need.
  • Dundee & Angus ADHD Support: provides services to support and empower children, young people and parents/carers affected by Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) - giving information and advice about the condition, individual and confidential parent support, workshops for parents, monthly support group meetings and youth groups for children with ADHD.
  • Hear Me - Counselling for Survivors of Sexual Abuse: Provides FREE and CONFIDENTIAL counselling either face to face or over the telephone for men, women and children (aged 8+) who have been sexually abused or sexually exploited. Pathways to the future is an integrative support service that is free and confidential for survivors of abuse in Angus (12 years +).
  • Home Energy Scotland (HES): Expert advisors offer free, impartial advice on energy saving, keeping warm at home, renewable energy, greener travel, cutting water waste and more.
  • Kirrie Connections: Kirrie Connections is a community hub that serves as the local base for Dementia Friendly Kirrie project. The meeting centre is a place for local people with dementia and their family carers to join in with social activities to help them adapt to living with dementia.
  • Move More ANGUSalive: If you are living with or beyond cancer in Angus, Macmillan and ANGUSalive offer a free programme to help you get and stay active. The activities are suitable for everyone, regardless of where you are in your cancer journey.
  • North East Sensory Service (NESS): Achieving independence for blind and deaf people. In Angus NESS provide rehabilitation services, equipment advice, groups and one to one volunteer support.
  • Penumbra: Providing dedicated services for people experiencing mild to serious and enduring mental ill health. They support people on their journey to better mental health by working with each person to find their own way forward.
  • Voluntary Action Angus (VAA): Supports the growth of volunteering, social enterprise and local third sector development and social prescribing.
