If you are on regular medicines you can obtain them without an appointment. The right-hand side of the prescription gives you a list of your current repeat medication; this can be used as a re-order form by ticking the items you need.
You may obtain your repeat prescription in one of the following ways:
From 17th September 2018 we are no longer accepting email prescription requests. Vision Online Service is our new online ordering service enabling you to order repeat prescriptions at your convenience. If you would like to register, please print and complete our registration form or ask for one at reception.
Return the completed form to the practice in person, along with 2 valid forms of identification, for example photo ID, passport, driving licence or birth certificate.
Once you are registered, the practice will email you the information that will enable you to create a username and password.
To aid the transition to our new service we will accept both ways of ordering until mid September, after which time the email service will be unavailable.
Please avoid asking the doctor for repeat prescriptions during surgery consultations or during a house call.
Please try to order all items at one time for convenience and order in plenty of time so that you do not run out of your medication.
The practice requires ‘TWO WORKING DAYS’ NOTICE to prepare the repeat prescription order for the chemist and the chemist usually requires a further 24 hours to dispense the medication.
Most patients on repeat medication are required to have an annual blood test around the month of their birthday. This is to ensure you are receiving the best possible treatment with as few side effects as possible.
Please make an appointment with the practice nurse during your birthday month; tell the receptionist it is for your annual “Medication Monitoring”. Please bring a sample of urine for testing at your appointment.
For patients who only use an inhaler, this annual blood test is not necessary but please remember it is extremely important that you attend for your appointments at the Asthma or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Clinics.
Please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your prescription request to be processed by the practice. The chemist usually requires a further 24 hours to dispense your medication. Any problems please telephone the surgery.
